Metacognition is the ability to think about your own thinking. In the context of mathematics, it is the ability to be aware of your own mathematical knowledge and skills and to be able to plan, monitor, and evaluate your own mathematical thinking. Participants will learn about the different components of metacognition and how to develop these skills in their students. They will also have the opportunity to practice using metacognitive strategies in their own classrooms.
